PTE Re-order Paragraphs Tips

The third question type in the reading skills will be to re-order paragraphs.

You will be provided with a text prompt of up to 50 words and will be shown some text boxes on the screen in a random order.

Read the paragraph, then drag and drop or click the arrows on the screen to put your chosen responses in the correct order.

You will earn 1 point for every pair of sentences that you place in the correct order and receive full marks if the whole paragraph is in the correct order.

Tips:

  1. Identify the first sentence, usually this will be Independent sentence that introduce the topic.
  2. Last phase of one sentence provides link to the second sentence or next sentences.
  3. Finish one topic before moving to next. If in a sentence a particular topic is discussed once the topic is ended then only move to next.
  4. The beginning of the sentence if there is a noun and next pronoun will be used.
