Eoin Morgan broke the long-standing record with his 17 sixers in the 2019 ICC World Cup match against Afghanistan on 18th June 2019. Before that, Rohit Sharma’s marvelous innings against Sri Lanka on 13th December 2017 was the latest inclusion on the list. He scored 208 runs with 12 sixes. Sharma also secured his place among the greatest cricketers of all time with these marvelous feats. On 5th January 2019, Thisara Perera smashed 13 sixes against New Zealand made him 6th on the list of players with the most sixes in an innings of ODI.

He smashed 17 sixes in the World Cup match against Afghanistan on 18th June 2019. And while doing so, he broke the long-standing previous record by Indian batsman Rohit Sharma.
Morgan scored 148 runs on that match in just 71 balls with 17 sixes and 4 boundaries in one of the biggest cricket stadiums, Old Trafford cricket ground. Besides, he also achieved a 208.45 strike rate with his blazing fast batting in that match against Afghanistan.

After Ramdin, several other cricketers have made 11 sixes in a single innings of an ODI match. These were scored by Martin Guptill for New Zealand against West Indies on 21st March 2015; AB de Villiers again South Africa against India on 25th October 2015; Quinton de Kock for South Africa against Australia on 30th September 2016; Marcus Stoinis for Australia against New Zealand on 30th January 2017; and Martin Guptill once more, against South Africa on 1st March 2017.

In the match of India vs. Australia, the record book gets disturbed by both teams. India made 385 runs playing first. Rohit Sharma scored 209 runs, the only 3rd batsman in history to do so. He hits 16 massive sixes in his double ton, breaking the world record made by Shane Watson (15 sixes) against Bangladesh. Rohit broke the Indian record previously held by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who hit 10 sixes in his innings of 183 against Sri Lanka at Jaipur.
The match has produced a world record for most sixes (38) – 19 by India and 19 by Australia, eclipsing the 31 recorded in India-New Zealand ODI at Christchurch on March 8, 2009. The match has produced 709 runs for the loss of 16 wickets – the second-highest in a match involving India and Australia, next only to the 721 for six at Jaipur on October 16, 2013. For the first time, three matches have produced 700-plus in a series in ODIs.
